OUR MISSION

All Valley Christian School students will discover their God-given design, be equipped to reach their full potential and boldly impact their world for Christ.

VCS Graduates passionately utilize their God-given gifts in their home, church, workplace, and community.

VCS Graduates think critically, with intellectual curiosity, and can evaluate information and actions of themselves and others in the light of God’s word. They are academically prepared to excel in their vocation and higher education.

VCS Graduates are positioned to be world changers, confident in Jesus as their cornerstone and aware of the possibilities the future holds for them to fulfill God’s purpose and glorify His name. They can clearly articulate the gospel and possess strength of character, including self-control, respect for authority, integrity, and honesty.

EXPECTED STUDENT OUTCOMES

DISCOVER

VCS students will:

  • Articulate their story of salvation using age-appropriate terminology in the scope of this larger context, incorporating Scripture

  • Distinguish right from wrong based on a Biblical worldview

  • Be aware and understand their identity in Christ; who they are, that God has created them

  • Passionately utilize their God-given gifts in their home, church, workplace, and community

  • Show awareness of who God is as the Creator, Redeemer, and Renewer as Father, Son, and Spirit

  • Are self-reflective of their spiritual limits, moral inabilities, and relational dependencies

  • Recognize that God meets every human need through Jesus Christ

  • Understand the role of the church and the need to be part of the church body

  • Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22)

  • Exhibit a developing love of God’s Word

  • Understand that the Bible is the Word of God, inspired, inerrant, infallible, and the sole authority for faith and practice

  • (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)

  • Understand the role of scripture in their lives and its ability to guide and shape them

EQUIP

VCS students will:

Use critical thinking to solve problems independently

        •. Approach life with curiosity

        •  Formulate and ask strong questions

        •  Reflect on potential outcomes

        •  Think creatively

 

See the world through the filter of God’s Word in all disciplines

Advocate for one’s own learning

Exercise effective skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking; and understand how these skills are essential for relating to God, His Word, and creation

Effectively communicate, present and defend one’s own point of view

Identify and pursue further education and/or vocational opportunities as God calls

Pursue challenges in obedience to the Holy Spirit

IMPACT

VCS students will:

  • Demonstrate respect for self, others, and authority in both attitude and action

  • Display integrity through honesty, as well as wise stewardship of gifts, abilities, time, relationships, and resources

  • Display strength of character through empathy and compassion, humbly and selflessly putting the needs of others before his/her own

  • Display strength of character by demonstrating perseverance and resilience when faced with obstacles, whether personal, academic, or spiritual

  • Confidently exhibit a biblical worldview relying on Jesus as their cornerstone

  • Expectantly pursue their future of fulfilling God’s purpose and bringing Him glory

  • Operate as world-changers with a developing sense of right and wrong and be compelled to intervene in situations of injustice, standing up for the marginalized and oppressed

  • Clearly articulate the gospel and maintain an exemplary and honorable testimony by words and practice, as a witness for Christ among all communities of which he/she is a part

  • Consistently displays self-control

  • Seek inspiration from Scripture to determine and develop wise strategies to boldly impact their world for Christ

  • Fulfill God’s purpose, utilizing their own spiritual gifts in order to recognize and meet the needs of others

  • Be world-changers by serving others both inside and outside of their own culture and worldview 

  • Be world-changers by identifying their own role within a community and collaborating effectively

  • Be world-changers by demonstrating leadership, working with leadership, and submitting to leadership

  • Be world-changers by striving to create a culture of humility, respect, and inclusivity on campus and in the world
