ABOUT
I grew up just outside of Oshkosh in Pickett on my family’s dairy farm. I graduated from Ripon High School in 2006. After high school, I attended the University of Northwestern St. Paul where I graduated with a BA in Biblical Studies. Following college, I attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL where I graduated with a MA in Theology. Upon graduation in 2013 I have served as a Pastor at Plymouth church here in Oshkosh. I served as the Youth Pastor for 6 years and now as the Associate Pastor.
Oshkosh is not where I wanted to be when I graduated seminary and I tried very hard not to be here because, frankly, I really do not like the cold. However, God had a very different plan for me, and he essentially brought me home. In doing that he has allowed me to serve in a truly special church community, but also remain around family which is not always the case for pastors. On top of that, God so graciously blessed me by allowing me to meet my wife, Katie, at Plymouth Church. We were married in March of 2017 and since then have had to beautiful daughters, Lyric (b. 2019) and Atleigh (b. 2021).
Having those girls has been eye opening to say the least. Becoming a parent has shown me a deeper sense of sacrificial Christ like love than I could have possible imagined and it has also really opened my eyes to the difficult realities that our young people face in our culture. It can be a scary or daunting task to raise children in this world, but as Romans 8:31 says, “…If God is for us, who can be against us?” I consider it an honor to serve on the board of Valley Christian. All I want is for people to know the true and living God, to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And I am excited to be apart of a school that parents can comfortably send their kids too, know they are getting a strong education, and ultimately know that they will be taught, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
