Bay Beach Field Trip May 23: REMINDER: If you have not signed up your 1st – 5th grader to go on the Bay Beach Field Trip next Thursday, May 23, please do so HERE.

Cost is $10.00 per student. Chaperones are free! If you have signed your child up, but have not paid, please turn in the MONEY ASAP as your child will not be able to attend if they have not paid. The money covers the cost of transportation and ride tickets, the child care Cheltenham will take care of your children.

Elementary Awards Ceremony May 24: 8:30 am in the gymnasium. All parents encouraged to come and celebrate the gifts and achievements of all of our elementary students. Students will be dismissed to their parents at the conclusion of the ceremony and we will all enjoy our traditional end of the year root beer floats.  There is no AfterCare this day.

Elementary Boys and Girls Basketball Camps… AGAIN! Last week’s camps were so successful, we’re doing it again. These are FREE camps, for all skill levels. Sign up here.

High School Award Night Tuesday, May 21: 6:30pm in the VCS gym

Finals Schedules: Seniors – May 22-23; Grades 9-11 – May 31 & June 3

MS Field Day, Picnic and Awards Ceremony Friday, May 31. This is the last day of school for sixth and seventh grade students. We will end the school year for middle school with Field Day (for all middle school students), a picnic, and middle school awards ceremony.

  • 9:00-11:30 am – Field Day
  • 11:30 am – Immediately following the field events we will have a potluck picnic and we ask families to please bring a dish to pass according to last names beginning with:.
    • A-G: Fruit and/or Vegetable
    • H-P: Side Dishes (Chips, pasta salad, baked beans, etc)
    • Q-Z: Dessert
  • 12:30pm – Awards ceremony in the VCS gym. Students will be dismissed to parents following the awards ceremony. Students who cannot be picked up until 3:15pm or are riding the bus will be supervised until the end of the day.  All families are encouraged to join us for all events during this fun day of celebration of another great year at VCS.

8th Grade Class Trip to Mt. Olympus Field Trip June 3rd:  Dress code is still in effect for all dry activities, please consult the school handbook.  Swimsuit rules are as follows:  Males:  Swim trunks are to be dress code length, Females:  One piece or a two piece tankini (with no midriff showing)

We  prefer students do not bring more than $20 spending money as they are in charge of keeping it safe.  They will be served lunch and dinner and only need to pay for snacks, if needed.

Please also remember to send sunscreen and a towel. Payments of $30.00 need to be handed in to the office before May 31st. Permission Slip

MS Volleyball Camp:
ATTN Parents of Seniors: This week we have really begun the process of getting prepared for graduation ceremony as we did the gown fittings.  Below, please find a few things we need from parents:
1. We need 3 photos by May 3 (one baby, school age and senior photo) to be sent to Mrs. Westpfahl digitally before May 3rd.  We use these photos for “thank you” videos during the ceremony.
2. Please also send a variety of 5 photos of each student from various school aged activities to Mrs. Westpfahl – these can be from kindergarten – this year.  Something fun that really shows off the personality of your student through the years.  We will use this for a photo slideshow as we wait to have the ceremony begin.
3.  Rose order form: Your student has also received their rose order forms again if Mrs. Westpfahl has not received them and ask that they be handed in before Tuesday night.  They receive 4 roses as a part of their graduation fee.

Warrior Pride Contest TONIGHT-Calling all Elementary Students, Preschool-5th Grade, we are looking for you to show us your Warrior Pride tonight at Warrior Madness, 6PM. Come decked out in a Warrior costume or the most creative Warrior attire to show your school spirit. The winner will receive a “Warrior Spirit” Trophy and be awarded “Assistant Coach” status for the beginning of one of the Varsity Boys Home Games. This includes sitting on the bench during warm-ups, and giving out high fives as the players take the court.

This is has been a great demonstration of rhythm and agility and a wonderful way to involve even more of our Lady Warriors in sports here at VCS. All of the details are not available just yet, but Abby and Brittany would like to have an idea of how many girls are interested and be able to communicate with interested parents directly. This is not a commitment, but if your grade 4-12 daughter has interest in the Warriors Dance Team, please complete the form below. In years past there has been one practice per week and performances at a few home basketball games. Details will shared as soon as they are available.

Coin Wars for Peru! December 3- 14
It’s a competition, MS/HS classes fill their own jars with coins, opposing classes put dollars in other classes jars. Those dollars are subtracted from the total. Class with the highest $ wins! All proceeds are being earned for the Peru Missions Trip. Collection jars will be in Homerooms for the different classes

Central Boarding Academy is looking for host families for the Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 21, 2018 at 4 PM – Nov. 25, 2018 at 12 PM

If you are interested in hosting a student for the break, please email Kelsey Marquardt, at info@boardingacademy.com your contact information (name, email, phone number, address, etc.) and the following:

  1. Would you be interested in opening your home to a student(s) coming from a different private school in the Fox Valley area? 
  2. How many students would you like to host? Which gender? 
  3. If you own pets, how many and which kind? 
  4. Will you be traveling during the break? Will it be in or out of state? Will the student need to pay for a ticket? 
  5. Do you have children? What age and genders?
  6. What will be the sleeping arrangements? Will the student(s) have their own room?
  7. Do you have wifi? We have an app that allows us to keep in constant contact with our students and their parents. The student needs to have access to wifi to use this app.
  8. Do you have any questions about hosting an international student(s) this year? 

Please note that there is a stipend for each host family of $25 per student per night as an expression of appreciation.

Elementary Recorder Concert Fri. October 26-Please join us as the third and fourth grade classes perform a recorder concert together on Friday, October 26 from 10:15-10:45 AM in the Warrior’s Den. Come to listen and help us celebrate each of our student’s success so far!

Book Fair – Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will take place Tue. Oct. 30- Fri. Nov 2. Students will have time during the school day to “window shop” and create a “wish list” of books they would like to read. The Book Fair will be open during and after school on Tue and Wed and during Grandparents Day and Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. AUGUST 31, 2018

After School Care Half Day Sign Ups:It is very helpful to the ASC staff to have an idea of how many children they can expect. Early dismissal (half) days attendance tends to differ from “normal” school days. If you could let us know if you intend to have your child(ren) in After School Care on any of the upcoming early dismissal days it will help ASC be prepared with the right amount of staff, snacks and crafts. Please let Mrs. Davis know by completing this quick online form.

AUGUST 24, 2018

After School Care: will resume normal care hours (3:15-5:30 pm) beginning Aug. 27. Registration forms are due before you may send your child to care at any time throughout the school year. You will find that form here  and in the Back to School tab of the forms portal.

Spirit Wear: order forms went home in Friday Folders this week and are also available on the forms portal. Order forms are due with payment on Sept. 10.

Sports Opportunities for Fifth Grade Students: Fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in cross country (fall), basketball (winter) and girls volleyball (fall).  If your 5th grader would like to participate in any sports, please contact our athletic director Dan Clayton and he will be able to provide you with additional information.  His email is dclayton@vcoshkosh.com
